
How to Move a Master Bath 35 Years Into the Future
Built in the late 1980s, the home was plagued by outdated everything. Particularly the master bath, where a phone booth-sized shower sat sealed behind an unevenly installed door, a boxy vanity sprang endless leaks, and cracked floor and wall tiles called out its garish pink coloring.
The plan: to expand the shower and separate it from the tub by a half wall; install a modern wooden vanity with silent closing doors, internal shelving, and integrated outlets; and an inset tub surrounded with an elegant but affordable 24 x 24 tile.
From demo to sign off, the job took 3 weeks (all that remains as of this posting are the glass partition and shower door.
